Ms Theresa Fong founded Caelygirl in 1986 to manufacture and market
lingerie products. She started her operations from rented shoplots,
and due to limited capital and resources, she chose to market her
products through the direct selling method. This method enabled
her to capitalize on network marketing whereby she trained and educated
her down liners to promote and market Caelygirl’s ladies undergarments.
Today Caelygirl has more than 150 stockists and 30,000 entrepreneurs
throughout Malaysia.
Within a year of operations, Caelygirl moved to its own two units
of 3 ½ story buildings and a few years later, to a fully
integrated modern factory building on 7 ½ acres of land.
Caelygirl now exports to 17 countries including Canada, USA, most
of the European Community and China. Under Ms Fong’s leadership,
Caelygirl was recently listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur
Stock Exchange. Both Ms Theresa Fong and Caelygirl have won many

Ms Farah Khan, a long time Malaysian resident, pioneered in Malaysia
the retailing of international imported branded fashion, coffee
culture in cafes and a new pan-Asean shopping approach. Ms Khan
begun in this business when she introduced high fashion to Singapore,
her original hometown, with the opening of The Link, a chain of
stores representing over 20 top designers and fashion brands. In
1989, Ms Khan founded The Melium Group in Malaysia with three core
businesses: Fashion - 22 boutiques for brands such as Aigner, BOSS
Hugo Boss, Christian Lacroix, Cole Haan, Ermenegildo Zegna, Furla,
Liz Claiborne, Oshkosh B’Gosh and Stuart Weitzman; Food &
Beverage - the Dome café chain and Aseana Café; and
the Aseana Galleria of Stores.
Ms Khan, who has received numerous accolades for personal and business
excellence, feels a strong civic responsibility and has frequently
raised substantial sums of money for charities, especially ones

Equipped with an MBA from Ohio University, Puan Noraini Soltan
set up Sipro Plastic Industries in 1992. Starting from a small semi-detached
factory in Shah Alam with 3 staff and 2 machines, today Sipro Plastic
Industries has over 120 staff, 2 sizeable factories and 20 machines.
From plastic injection-moulding, the Company has since expanded
and now offers a comprehensive package that include parts printing,
mould design, mould modification, fabrication and assembly of parts
for the automotive, electrical, electronic, and telecommunication
industries. Through her aggressive marketing approach, Sipro Plastic
Industries now services major multinational companies such as SONY,
Modenas, Pernec, Perodua and Proton.
Sipro Plastic Industries has begun exporting its products overseas
and to ensure continued international expansion, the Company is
investing in R&D and latest machineries and taking steps to
ensure compliance with international quality standards. In recognition
of her leadership qualities and spirit of excellence, both Puan
