Armed with a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, and after a brief employment stint, Mr Lim Kuang Sia started Kossan Industries Sdn Bhd in 1979 to produce a range of cutlass bearings used for marine industry. With Mr Lim's strong academic background in chemical engineering, the Company diversified into other products ranging from PU products, examination gloves, ethylene vinyl acetate products, extruded rubber products, high-end rubber products such as bridge bearing pads and bridge expansion joints, technical rubber to rubber-to-metal bonded automotive parts.

Through painstaking effort and commitment, their products now stretch far beyond the shores of Malaysia to more than 60 countries in US, Europe and Japan. The Company has now earned an enduring reputation with renowned manufacturers as an OEM manufacturer for quality and reliable services.

Listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia, Kossan is now the largest technical rubber products and 3rd largest latex gloves manufacturer in Malaysia. Through its unrelentless focus on quality and R&D, the Company has been accorded many international quality awards and recently achieved a certification which qualifies Kossan to direct supply automotive parts to the three largest automotive makers in the world. @ Sept 05

Tan Sri Dato' Professor Dr Lim is a rare combination of a creative mind with sharp business acumen.

Having joined the advertising industry at an early age, Tan Sri Lim quickly rose through the ranks of McCann Erikson advertising agency to become the Regional Creative Director. He was 29 when Tan Sri Lim founded Wings Creative in 1974 and in less than 10 years, its turnover grew to RM44 million. The mid 80s and early 90s saw him as a strategic communicator, building campaigns for companies, governments and humanitarian causes. With a vision to propel Malaysia as a centre of excellence for education as well as to evoke design consciousness among Malaysians, Tan Sri Lim established Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology in 1991 and in just 12 years nurtured it to University status. Today Limkokwing University is one of Malaysia's leading brands, recognised for international quality education. What started as a college with 200 students in rented premises is today a fully-owned full facility RM100 million campus in Cyberjaya with 4,000 students from 65 countries.

Datuk P. Kasi, a successful architect, property developer and entrepreneur, is the co-founder and Executive Director of MK Land Holdings Berhad, one of the largest property companies listed on Bursa Malaysia. Having led project teams to design, develop and innovate projects such as Damansara Perdana, Damansara Damai, Cyberia, Bukit Merah Laketown and Langkawi Lagoon Resort, Datuk P. Kasi had seen to the completion of more than 30,000 houses in the country. In all projects, Datuk P. Kasi was committed to adding value to privatised land in suburban and rural areas, fulfilling government obligations and creating value for all stakeholders, including their house buyers and the neighbouring communities.

With more than twenty-four years of experience, Datuk P. Kasi has contributed much to the profession of Architects and the Property and Building Industry in the country. He is actively involved with various local and international architectural and engineering professional organisations as well as property and building industry boards, having held key positions in several of them. Recipient of the Sarawak Entrepreneur of the Year award 2005, Datuk Abdul Hamed Bin Haji Sepawi, co-founded Ta Ann and Naim Cendera in 1988 and 1993 respectively, both now listed on Bursa Malaysia.

Equipped with a Masters Degree in Forest Products, Datuk Abdul Hamed put his knowledge into practice by taking over unsuccessful timber concessionaires to sow the seeds for what is today a vibrant timber resources company, Ta Ann. A passionate proponent for sustainable forest management, Datuk Abdul Hamed spearheaded efforts to propagate high quality seeds and supply seeds and seedlings to tree planters to enable forests to be continuously replanted and renewed. He is also assisting in the revival of the pulp and paper industries in Sarawak which will entail massive replanting of fast growing acacia in order to sustain the pulp mill.

In 1993, Datuk Abdul Hamed teamed up with Datuk Hasmi Hasnan to set up Naim Cendera, a property development and construction company to capitalize on the huge demand for affordable housing in Sarawak. Since then, Naim Cendera has won numerous awards including a prestigious award at the 17th International Construction Award and Global Quality Management Award by the Spain-based Editorial Office and European-based Trade Leaders' Club. @ Sept 05

Right after returning with a Masters Degree in architecture from Harvard, Mr David Mizan Hashim founded Veritas in 1987. 18 years on, Veritas has evolved into a multi-disciplinary architecture, interior design, landscape design and planning firm specialising in the design of innovative buildings, spaces and environments. Mr David has contributed to the design vision for many of Veritas' projects and has led several award-winning interior design and architecture projects. Veritas' portfolio is large and varied and ranged from numerous retail projects throughout Malaysia to involvement in several technology intensive and industrial projects to designing high-speed rail systems, station rehabilitation and transportation terminals to many significant others. Veritas also has to-date undertaken projects in Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, India, China, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Pakistan and the U.A.E.

The growth and success of Veritas is largely attributable to the energy and passion that Mr David brings to the design process, communication skills, stringent control of budget and schedule and understanding their clients' objectives. Under Mr David's inspirational leadership, Veritas is now firmly established as an award-winning design firm with worldwide exposure and acclaim.
