En Yusli Mohamed Yusoff was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia Berhad [formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Berhad (KLSE)] by YAB Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi with effect from 1 March 2004.
En Yusli, 45, is a chartered accountant with established experience in financial accounting in Britain and Malaysia and in managing public companies in Malaysia.
A graduate in Economics from the University of Essex, Britain, he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales and Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He began his career in accountancy serving with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co, London and Hugin Sweda PLC, London.
In Malaysia, En Yusli went on to hold key positions in prominent corporations including Faber Group Berhad, Time Engineering Berhad, Renong Berhad, Shapadu Corporation Sdn Bhd, Sime Merchant Bankers Berhad, Intria Berhad and Metacorp Berhad.
En Yusli’s direct involvement in the Malaysian securities industry and the Bursa Malaysia (formerly known as KLSE) group has been expanded extensively since the year 2000, in his previous capacity as Chief Executive Director, CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd, Chairman, Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia, Director of Malaysia Derivatives Exchange Bhd and Committee Member of KLSE.
As Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, En Yusli brings with him over 20 years experience and expertise in financial management, risk management and business development.
En Yusli presently sits on the Capital Market Development Fund
Board and is an EXCO member of the Financial Reporting Foundation/Malaysian
Accounting Standards Board. He is also the President of Victoria
